Hi, I’m Bridget!

I am a lifelong Michigander. I was born in Detroit and grew up in Melvindale. My husband Mike and I have been married for 40 years and moved to Berkley with our two children, Devon and Jordan, 20 years ago. We’ve since welcomed grandchildren to our family! While I have lived in other cities in Michigan, I am thrilled to live in Berkley.

Community service is in the very fabric of my being and that service extends beyond the city of Berkley. I co-founded Knit Michigan, a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families by making, collecting, and donating chemo caps and lap blankets to cancer centers throughout Michigan. This includes the Rose Cancer Center at Corewell Hospital in Royal Oak which has treated many Berkley residents. I feel blessed to be able to combine my talent, creativity, and business sense in order to bring some warmth, literally and figuratively, to people at one of the most difficult times of their lives.

When I’m not attending community events conversing with and listening to the concerns of fellow residents and business owners, I like to: knit, cook (turkey chili is my specialty), entertain friends and family at my home, and meet friends for dinner. I also enjoy walking my dog. It’s a healthy activity for both of us!

I was appointed to the Berkley City Council in 2018, ran my first campaign in 2019 and have been your Mayor since 2022. I absolutely love doing this work! In every situation I am presented with, I always ask myself, “What is best for the city of Berkley and its residents?” During my time as a Berkley City Council member I have learned so much about community, cooperation, and compromise and I use this knowledge in every decision I make for our city. I look forward to continuing to serve the City of Berkley.
